BABSEACLE regularly hosts a number of “clinicians-in-residence”. These individuals are leading practitioners and thinkers in the field of CLE, access to justice and legal education. Whilst at BABSEACLE they add to the institutional knowledge by providing lessons in their area of expertise, gain valuable practical experience and are encouraged to pursue research opportunities in the area.
Clinicians-in-residence participate in a ‘dialogue’ with BABSEACLE and our partners. We are often able to connect them with many of our partner universities in the region to experience CLE on the ground in Asia. It also provides a valuable networking opportunity and the ability to cultivate collaborative academic networks of CLE practitioners.
CLE Summer School – Clinician in Residence
Each year BABSEACLE is proud to host a number of clinicians from across the region and the globe who participate as trainers/supervisors in the BABSEACLE’s annual CLE Summer School. Lawyers, legal professionals and clinicians with an interest in access to justice and pro bono practice are encouraged to submit an application throughout the year.
Past participants of the CLE Summer School have been law teachers, students as well as law graduates and lawyers from Europe, North America and Australia looking to become further involved in CLE programs; Legal Fellows from across the region; and administrators who have taken leading roles in establishing and strengthen legal clinics throughout Southeast Asia.
