Application Period

Application for The ‘Beyond Refuge’ Summer School on Refugee Rights & Forced Migration will commence on 18 June 2021 and will end on 16 July 2021. 

Application and Program Fees

The program is free of charge.

Application Checklist

Here is the full list of documents needed to complete your application. All documents must be uploaded via the application portal; the physical documents are not needed.

1) Online Application Form

2) Curriculum Vitae or Resume

A curriculum vitae (CV) should list academic, professional and personal achievements, including significant occupations. Each occupation must include:

  • Organization
  • The period of time the occupation was held for
  • Major responsibilities

3) Supporting Document

The applicants have to submit a supporting document with their online application form as well. The Summer School accepts either a Cover Letter or a Short Video. The applicants have to choose either one of these to submit, not both of them.

3.1) Cover Letter

A cover letter (max.  2 pages) should include but not limited to your motivation for applying to The Summer School. It should answer the following question:

  • What is your motivation and reasons for applying to the Summer School
  • What professional experience have you achieved, and to what extent do you think this program will be useful for you?
  • What personal or professional goals do you hope to achieve from the program
  • What are your professional goals in the context of refugee protection
  • How do you intend to use knowledge earned from the program
  • How will you contribute to the program

3.2) Short Video

A short video (no more than 2 minutes) should include but not limited to your motivation for applying to The Summer School. It should address the following question:

  • What is your motivation and reasons for applying to the Summer School
  • What professional experience have you achieved, and to what extent do you think this program will be useful for you?
  • What personal or professional goals do you hope to achieve from the program
  • What are your professional goals in the context of refugee protection
  • How do you intend to use knowledge earned from the program
  • How will you contribute to the program

Key Notes

Before you proceed to the online application, here are some keys to note:

  1. To be considered, the application and all supporting documents must be completed and submitted on/before 11:59 PM (ICT) on 16 July 2021.
  2. A maximum of 25 participants will be accepted to the program
  3. Applicants have to submit either a Cover Letter or a Short Video; not both of them
  4. A cover letter with more than (2) two pages will not be considered
  5. A short video with more than (2) two minutes will not be considered
  6. A short video must have clearly visible and audible; failure to do so will cause application rejection
  7. All documents must be in English only; failure to do so will cause application rejection
