Q3 2026 Asia Pro Bono Roundtable on From Commitment to Impact: Structuring and Managing Local Law firm Pro Bono

Transforming a law firm’s dedication to pro bono into a structured pro bono practice takes coordination, clear governance frameworks, and effective collaboration.

This regional roundtable brings together leaders from local law firms across Asia, highlighting real-world examples and lessons learned from dynamic legal landscapes, including South Korea, Indonesia, and beyond. Participants will examine how local firms navigate diverse regulatory environments, bridge infrastructure gaps, and build sustainable pro bono management pipelines.

The session will also highlight strategies for aligning multi-jurisdictional law firm networks to address shared regional challenges and access to justice gaps. It will touch upon some of the different approaches local law firm pro bono coordinators can take to justify pro bono investment in the minds of diverse internal stakeholders by speaking to the range of interests from business development to doing pro bono for its own inherent value.

Background and Consortium information: These Asia Regional Pro Bono Roundtables began in 2020, and were built on the regional collaborative work we have been doing together for years. They focus on ways and means to utilise Pro Bono as a means to greater achieve access to justice and strengthen Rule of Law. They do so in a variety of ways, including focusing on specific Pro Bono related initiatives, as well as Pro Bono processes. Our Consortium currently consists of a number of organizations engaged in the strengthening and expanding of Pro Bono, within the Asia region and globally, including iProbono, Pro Bono SG (formerly Law Society Pro Bono Service [Singapore]), PILnet, BABSEACLE, TrustLaw (Thomson Reuters Foundation), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), GongGam, The Legal Empowerment Network, International Bridges to Justice, The Global Pro Bono Bar Association, the Center for Reproductive Rights, A4ID, Australian Pro Bono Centre, Pro Bono Week Collaboration, and the Centre for Law and Transformative Change.
