Rene Barrion

Director of Legal Aid and Community Extension Services, College of Law Notre Dame of Marbel University

Atty. Rene M. Barrion is the Director of Legal Aid and Community Extension Services at Notre Dame of Marbel University in South Cotabato, Philippines. He was admitted to the Bar in 1997 and holds a Juris Doctor Degree from the University of Santo Tomas and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of the Philippines.

Atty. Barrion has significant corporate experience, having served as Vice President for Corporate and External Affairs at RD PNG Group in Papua New Guinea and in various roles at RD Tuna Canners and RD Fishing Group.

He also has a strong background in government service, including roles as Assistant Provincial Prosecutor, Public Attorney, Legal Officer at BFAR, and Legislative Staff Officer at the House of Representatives. Atty. Barrion is proficient in International Fishing Rights, Litigation, HR, and Corporate Law.

Additionally, he teaches Public International Law and Environmental and Natural Resources Law at NDMU College of Law. And he supervises law students practical experience through the Clinical Legal Education Program (CLEP).
